Now and Zen Productions (NAZ) was first incorporated in October of 1995 to sell novelty tee shirts. A story had come our way about a lawyer/ ad exec couple that had written some clever tee shirts and sold them to a mail order catalog for an astonishing sum. On a lark we tried to write and market some ideas of our own. In February of 1996 the original Now and Zen catalog was assembled on the kitchen table of a one-bedroom apartment. The first order for 18 shirts, totaling $153, was placed in April. In 2005 NAZ realized sales of approaching 3/4 million shirts per month.
Now and Zen is among the largest sellers of non-licensed novelty (humor and graphics) tee shirts in America. Our customers consist primarily of department stores and mall stores. NAZ programs in five primary categories: Activewear (Sports), Young Men's, Boys 4-7, Boys 8-20, Juniors, Girls, Infants and Toddlers Girls, and Infants and Toddlers Boys. Our art and design categories, however, exceed well beyond these genre. We are also adept at designing for specialty markets like Discovery Channel and museum stores, Country/mid-America (Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores), Music, Surf and Sport, Christian & Jewish, Over the Hill and Holiday.
The company is based in downtown Denver, Colorado in a renovated Victorian home.
