Charities/Non Profitees™
Now and Zen is working to create an arm of our company called Non Profitees™. The goal of Non Profitees™ is to save worthy non-profits and charities money by helping you to get your tee shirts at our cost, which is far below what you might otherwise be able to negotiate when walking into a screen printer off of the street. Screen printers are hit up a dozen times a day by worthy causes who need help. Much of their business comes from the shirts they print for these causes. They have to make a profit; it's how they stay in business. We, however, do not need to profit from shirts for non-profits. We can use the engine of our wholesale business to house and fuel this endeavor. Even the very largest organizations producing hundreds of thousands of shirts can save as much as half of what they spend by running their programs through our company.
Non Profitees™ is strictly a charitable, non-profit effort by Now and Zen. There are no built in profits or executive salaries. Tee shirts are what we do in the world, and lots of well-intended organizations need tee shirts, for fundraisers, for giveaways, for thanks to volunteers. There's no reason you should have to use money for these shirts that could otherwise be going directly to support your cause.
Non Profitees™ is a new endeavor for Now and Zen. At the moment we have to rely on an already overloaded staff to manage it. Our intention is to gather enough interested charities to help us cover the overhead of operations, namely, a production manager to handle orders, and a graphic designer to help you with your art needs. The more charities we get on board, the greater the number of shirts over which to spread the overhead. Ideally we will be able to charge a nickel or a dime per shirt over our cost, which will still be half of what you pay off of the street. At the moment we are taking names and data from interested charities to launch this program.
Any surplus accumulated by this nickel or dime upcharge will go into a kitty where it can be used to provide free tee shirts to those smaller organizations who cannot afford to pay even cost.
Minimum orders will be 145 shirts/design. As much as possible, at least for the time being, camera ready artwork (separations) will be necessary. Costs will start around $1.50 for one color ink, one-sided, on white shirts.
